CORE PASSAGE: Revelation 12:7-8

Michael is known as the archangel, or chief of the angels. His name means “who is like God.” He is the commander of God’s army of angels who fights against the devil (or Satan the chief of the fallen angels) (Revelation 12:7-12) and who protects Israel. Michael’s name is mentioned in two other places in the Bible: Daniel also mentions Michael in his one vision (Daniel 10:13-21), and we read about Michael in Jude 1:9.
